New iPad sleeves ....

At the moment, these are a few of the ones I really, really, really like.

Now to get motivated to photograph all these bad boys ...  They should be in the shop by the weekend.

I love the zebra fabric; I've been sitting on it for over 2 1/2 years, waiting for the right project before cutting into it. Not my normal sort of attraction, yet I found it so compelling. The white version of it will be listed in the future, as well.

The birdie fabric is from 2007 or 2008, would have to dig thru all the old receipts to get the exact date on it. Another lovely modern Japanese import.

Back to work ... should take some photos right now, as the light in here is conducive & my lads are sleeping.

Waffles in the Kitchen

I'm noticing that I'm turning into one of those folks taking pix & writing about the things I'm cooking lately. So ... with that, I've started a new blog: Waffles in the Kitchen.

Some of the vintage S&P's in the kitchen
I may get really wacky and post the recipes, along with the tweaking I've done of them. We'll see.

More vintage S&P's & sugar shakers

Happy Tuesday!!!!

About Apt

Either this or Law of the Plague. Either is apt right about now.

I'ma go sleep for another 6 hours.

Dinner at WB HQ was so, so, so good, I had to share! Penne with anchovies, capers, shallots & clams (no clams for me, tho). I absolutely love that I only have to walk to the end of my block to get really amazing fresh produce. They carry some really offbeat items, too; I had to ask what cranberry beans were, having never seen them before.

I'm getting so crazy in to cooking of late. The last 2 years have been a non-stop, constantly evolving process of amping up. Semi-recent examples:

  • Buffalo Shepperd's Pie
  • Beat, Turnip & Squash Veal Stew
  • (Volcanic) Spicy Italian Soup

It's quite liberating to be constantly pushing your own limits, food & other wise.

[And nary a word about the shop this post. ;)]

Halfway thru Winter!

I'm so happy that we are at the official half-way mark of winter. My absolute least favorite time of the year. :( If I could just stay in for 3 months, I surely would). My shop would definitely be over-stocked if I could hibernate that long.

I'm still working on these, which I love, love, LOVE! I have a stack of them to be photographed (grumble, I really hate photographing them!) and an even bigger stack to finish. I don't know why I am so very enamoured with one of a kind at the moment, but I completely am. Even though it means ...

taking more pictures! Boo.

It's kinda funny, after years and years, I finally got an appropriate background for picture taking. A friend built it (it's super kick-ass) for me, it definitely makes things so much easier. You would think I'd be more inclined to take pictures.

Gotta run. Orders to package up, post office run, chicken noodle soup on the stove, new things to finish sewing, picture taking all before work.

After work, team Bloodweiser needs a little practice! We've been doing really well. I'm shooting for cities this year ....

After the complete and utter domination I handed out playing 9 ball on Tuesday, I'ma feeling a little ... confident! When relaying that story to my 8 ball team mates, I used the words 'vaporize' and 'decimate'. I never, ever get to say that; I'm more used to be on the receiving end of the ass-whooping. Nice way to break my losing streak.

First post of 2013!

2 weeks into the New Year already! Yikes! This month is just flying by .... between work, league, practice, and working on all these new goodies for the shop, I've had very little time for anything. And, as been oft proven, I'm not the most consistent blogger ...

I'm really taken with limited edition sets right now. I've got a pile of new ones that are going into the shop after I finish photographing them (my absolute least favorite part of this job). Once I finish this post, I'll start listing them. Here's a little preview:

I really like the cute fancy stitching along the inside edges of the tissue case. It's so girly! Quite possibly my favorite detail about these. I also really love the trimming along the edge of the zipper.

I'm also working on getting the V-Day section super well stocked. Currently, there are close to 40 items listed. We'll see how full it gets by the end of the month. (I'ma remain mum about the actual number I'm shooting for.) This is the first year in a long time that I'm actually sorta stoked about V-Day.

So, that's it for now. My projection for the next batch of new items is after V-Day. Yay!!!

Merry Christmas

Is this for us?!?

Sheesh, finally the craziness is over! The last 6 weeks have been non-stop: sewing, sewing, sewing, pool & work. And of course, these guys take up large amounts of time. Santa brought them a big box of goodies. This one seems to be their favorite so far.

Klaus investigating his Christmas box

I'm glad that there's only a few days of the year left. This year flew by. So many things that I wanted to get done that I just didn't find the time to get to. 2013 will be a bit different; re-organized both the professional and personal life. :)

I've got some new goodies for the shop, which will start appearing in 2 - 3 weeks. Plus, all the cute VDay prints will start to be listed next week as well. Come mid-January, pool league is back in full swing again. I love the month long winter break! I actually get more than 1 day off.

Hope everyone had a lovely holiday!
